The Visakhapatnam Port Trust has a unique achievement. Vizag Port Trust set the record for handling the most cargo in a single day. The Port of Visakhapatnam set a new record for cargo handling in a single day on the 26th of this month. SPM handled a record 3,70,029 metric tonnes of freight in one day at the Inner Harbor and Outer Harbor. 21 ships arrived at the port on the 26th to handle the cargo.
In 2019, the port handled 3,47,722 metric tonnes of cargo, the most ever in a single day. This achievement has recently been surpassed by the port. It received 3,47,722 metric tonnes of cargo from 19 ships on December 2, 2019.
The Visakhapatnam Port Trust, according to Chairman K Ramamohanarao, has now set a new record. The Chairman of the Port Trust congratulated the Traffic Department workers on their accomplishment. He hopes to set more records in the future and to work constantly for the port’s development.
