Dr. K V Mohan Rao from Vizag has awarded with Presidential Award for the year 2022

The Presidential Award for Specially Distinguished Record of Service, 2022, was given to Dr. K V Mohan Rao, Additional Assistant Director of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN), Zonal Campus, Visakhapatnam.

On January 25, 2022, the Indian government published a gazette listing the recipients of the Presidential Award. On the eve of Republic Day, the Hon’ble President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, revealed the recipients of these awards.

Dr. K V Mohan Rao is a master trainer for the GST Council and has given various talks on the subject. He organised training sessions for officers from the Central GST, State GST, the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, and representatives of Andhra Pradesh’s trade groups. He held GST Awareness Sessions in various districts of Andhra Pradesh in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation. Dr. Rao travelled to Andhra Pradesh and delivered GST training for tax officers in Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, and Vizianagaram before the pandemic.

He enrolled in classes at New Delhi’s National e-Governance Division (NeGD). Since 2017, Dr. Rao has been a course coordinator for a number of Induction Training Courses for newly hired Central GST Inspectors, Examiners, and Preventive Officers of Customs.

He was a member of two teams working on the prestigious Integrated Government Online Training (IGOT) project of the Indian government (aka Mission Karma Yogi). IGOT is a training package designed to improve front-line workers’ abilities to handle the pandemic effectively. The DIKSHA platform of the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) hosts this portal.
