New Features to Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam with Rs.60 crores

Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam is going to get new features. More facilities to come up in the temple. The stairway to the temple is going to be more convenient than before. The waiting halls for the devotees who wait for the darshanam are to be constructed. Solar electric plant to be established for the electricity use in the temple. The proposals for installing water ATMs everywhere in the temple are ready.

Electric buses to be made available for the devotees to reach the top of the hill where the temple is located. A smart kitchen to be installed at the temple. A cold storage in regards to the kitchen also to be constructed. A viewpoint and watch tower to be installed for the devotees to view the beauty of city from the top of the hill. Central government has allotted Rs 60 crores under Prasad scheme to renovate the temple and develop more facilities for the devotees.

At present there are no facilities available in the stairway of the temple which has 1200 steps to the top of the hill. So, in this regard the tourism department is making plans to make it more feasible to the devotees. Rest rooms are to be installed at some points along the stairway. Washrooms and dress changing rooms are also to be arranged. Tourist information centre is to be arranged to the devotees to gather information who come from various areas. Ghat road to be improved. Two waiting halls to be constructed for the devotees to wait for the darshan similar to Tirupathi devasthanam.
