Four People Drowned In Vizag RK Beach | Visakhapatnam News
A beach trip turned unfortunate for visitors from Hyderabad and Odisha who travelled to Vizag City to celebrate New Year’s Eve when four of them drowned in two separate events on Sunday at RK Beach.
Two bodies washed up on the shore, according to the police, and the search for the other two continues. Ch Shiva (25) of Hyderabad and Sumitra Tripathi of Cuttack, Odisha, have been identified as the victims.
According to the police, an eight-person group travelled from Hyderabad to Vizag to celebrate the New Year. They went swimming at RK Beach on Sunday. They were washed away in a strong current while bathing, and three of them were taken deep within the sea. They were identified as Kota Siva (21), Mohammed Aziz (21) and Ch Shiva (25), all of whom were born in Hyderabad’s Begumpet neighbourhood. Another incident occurred when a group of Odisha friends arrived at RK Beach and some of them, including Sumitra, went into the sea and drowned.
According to officials, a search for the missing has begun. Thousands of people came to RK Beach on Sunday, according to the authorities, including tourists from Telangana and other districts of Andhra Pradesh. Despite the presence of lifeguards, the crowd was too large for them to be warned about the risks of swimming.
The visitors, according to eyewitnesses, went far into the water. They claimed that after a few minutes, some large waves rushed towards them and carried them deeper into the sea.
Many of those who went farther into the sea were carried by a strong current. Only a few people were able to swim ashore, and others were rescued by lifeguards. However, four people were dragged into deep water.
