Cruise Tourism Raises Visakhapatnam Hopes – The port city is set to get another tourist attraction in the form of cruises
Cruises are likely to become another tourist draw in the port city. Cordelia Cruises has announced the timetable of a trip from Chennai to Pondicherry via Vizag, which will take place this summer.
VPT is planning to accommodate cruise ships and stimulate cruise tourism even before the cruise terminal construction is completed. “We will arrange the berth that was given to the Adani company, which abandoned it,” said K Ramamohana Rao, head of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
He went on to say that once the ship arrives, port officials will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of handling cruises. “The Adani gang has departed the berth, and we’re looking for a replacement crew.” He stated, “The firm has approached the port for cruise berthing.”
On June 6, 13, and 20, cruises will depart from Chennai. On June 8, 15, and 22, approximately 2,000-capacity cruises will arrive in Vizag. Standard rooms with ocean views, mini-suites, and suite rooms will be available in various grades depending on the room classifications.
A port official indicated that prices will range from 40,000 to 2 lakh.
