Replica of Mega Wheel like London Eye soon to be in the City of Visakhapatnam

On the Visakhapatnam Beach Road near D. Ramanaidu Studios, the ball has been rolling for the Mega Wheel, which will be similar to the London Eye. It will be the first of its sort in India and one of the world’s ten largest wheels.

The idea is now being addressed at the level of the chief secretary. Vara Prasad Reddy, chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), said that an expression of interest could be called before the end of the month.

“It is Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s favourite project.” “We have requested that the proposed Sky Tower be built at the same location as the proposed Sky Tower, so that parking and visitor amenities are shared between the two,” Vara Prasad said on Thursday.

The London Eye will serve as a new icon for the City of Destiny, Andhra Pradesh’s designated executive capital. It will be India’s first Mega Wheel project, putting Visakhapatnam among the world’s largest cities. The Mega Wheel’s intended height is 125 metres, placing it among the top ten Mega Wheels in the globe, according to APTDC chairman.

“Bringing a London Eye-type project to Visakhapatnam will be a big success,” the Chief Minister told his colleagues at the cabinet meeting on October 27.

At maximum capacity, the wheel will have 44 air-conditioned 54-square-foot cabins. Automated photography equipment will be installed in the cabins. After exiting the wheel, tourists will receive their photographs.

Vara Prasad Reddy pointed out that the big wheel would be visible from kilometres away once it was illuminated after sunset.
