The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation created a video song centred on the concept ‘Swachh Visakha,’ which captures the magnificent surroundings of the City of Destiny.
The 4:39-minute-long video song, composed by Santosh Yadlapalli, not only displays the beauty of the city, but also emphasises how each citizen can play a role in keeping the city clean. The song also emphasises the fight against plastic pollution and the importance of working together as responsible citizens to ensure that the city is ranked first in Swachh Survekshan-2022. The video song’s lyrics were written by K Trinadha Rao, and the music was composed by B Mallkikharjun.
Municipal Commissioner G Lakshmisha, who unveiled the song in the presence of swachh brand ambassadors Shirin Rehman and GSN Raju, as well as star-maker L Satyanand, highlighted the importance of raising the survey score.
With a higher score, the GVMC Commissioner stated that the Swachh Survekshan 2022 will create a new standard with the help of ward corporators, ambassadors, NGO representatives, and other stakeholders. “The WINGS awards have inspired the ward corporators to take an active role in keeping their individual wards clean and functional,” Lakshmisha explained.
The GVMC Commissioner, seeking public cooperation, stated that the company seeks to improve the citizen feedback category of the SS-2022. The corporation has launched a number of activities to raise public awareness about Swachh Survekshan, including a cloth bag challenge, educational drives, and rallies. Lakshmisha said it was a major push for them to move up the ranks when Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the people of Visakhapatnam in his recent ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme for their contribution to keeping the environment plastic-free.
