CM Jagan And Bharati Attends Milan 2022 Parade in Vizag | Milan 2022 Vizag

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said it was a proud occasion for the city when the MILAN-2022 International City Parade was launched in Visakhapatnam port city on Sunday. The Chief Minister described MILAN-2022 as a remarkable event and a festival of marine exercises while speaking to the august crowd in the “City of Destiny.” He expressed gratitude to personnel from the Eastern Navy Command for painting the INS Visakhapatnam in the livery of the Dolphin Lighthouse and the Dolphin nose.

He dedicated the INS Visakhapatnam, an indigenously built stealth guided-missile destroyer, to the country, which was formally “associated” with this port city. The ceremony was attended by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, and other senior officials.

INS Visakhapatnam was commissioned into the Navy in December 2021 after being built in the Mazgaon Docks. The destroyer, which has been docked in the port city for a few days, took part in the President’s Fleet Review on February 21 and is presently participating in the ongoing multinational maritime exercises MILAN-2022.

Chief Minister YS Jagan and his wife, YS Bharathi, were welcomed aboard INS Vela, a Kalvari-class submarine commissioned into the Indian Navy in November 2021, by Eastern Navy Command officers.

The 11th edition of MILAN features naval warships from 13 countries, as well as officers from the navies of 39 friendly foreign states. The event is being held for the first time in Visakhapatnam by the Eastern Naval Command. For the event, ships from Australia, the United States, France, Singapore, Japan, the Seychelles, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and other friendly nations have anchored at Visakhapatnam.

The sea portion of MILAN will begin on March 1, with a variety of exercises including seamanship drills, modelling of complicated operational situations, and tactical manoeuvres being conducted in multi-national groups.

MILAN-2022 was launched on Saturday at the Eastern Naval Command’s Samudrika by Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhat in a colourful ceremony. The MILAN Village, which was opened by the Minister at the Sailors Institute, presented the rich Indian crafts, culture, and cuisine to the visiting guests.
