As part of the National Science Day celebrations, the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam is hosting a series of events. On February 28, 2022, National Science Day will be celebrated. This day is observed to honour Sir CV Raman’s development of the ‘Raman Effect.’ On February 28, 1928, this invention was made. NSTL Visakhapatnam is holding competitions to mark the event and commemorate the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government of India event to remember and celebrate 75 years of progressive India. This is a representation of India’s evolving sociocultural, political, and economic identity. The official journey of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” begins on March 12, 2021, and will end on August 15, 2022, after a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence.
NSTL Visakhapatnam hosts activities for students from various schools and colleges in the Visakhapatnam area. Quizzes, essay writing, drawing, and model exhibitions will all be part of this. The quiz will begin at 1 p.m. on February 10, 2022, at Manasi Auditorium in the NSTL campus. This event is open to children in grades six through ten, and students must attend by 12:45 p.m. This event can be registered for via email at nsd2022nstl@gmail.com. Following the preliminary round, the final round will begin.
On the 25th and 26th of February, 2022, at Ramanath Secondary School, NSTL Residential Complex, an Open House (display of NSTL items) will be held. Students will get the opportunity to see exhibitions of weaponry and systems developed by NSTL for the Indian Navy at the open house. From the open house, the best models will be chosen. Schools are expected to transmit essay writing scripts to NSTL Visakhapatnam for essay writing competitions. An in-house judging panel will be in charge of the essay writing competition’s evaluation. The champions of all three events will be honoured at NSTL Visakhapatnam on National Science Day.
B Mohan Rao, a scientist and the chairman of the National Science Day Celebration 2022, advised students in the Visakhapatnam District to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about how the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is strengthening the country. The visitors will be given a multimedia presentation on NSTL. The visitors must respect the COVID 19 guidelines.
