Kali Temple’s History and Architecture:
The Kalimata Temple, also known as the Vizag Kali Temple, is a popular pilgrimage site. The richest history it inherits is the most important reason for this. Originally, the temple’s foundation was a bamboo skeletal structure. The construction of this temple began in 1984.
As soon as you enter the temple grounds, you will be greeted by tall pillars, domes, and minarets. It has a temple kitchen, an office, and priests’ living quarters. There is another temple nearby, which is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali’s sanctuary. Lord Siva is honoured with this. The Shivalinga is made of a complete stone sculpture known as a ‘rasalinga.’ It weighs about 10 kg.

- From anywhere in Vizag, an auto can take you to Kali Temple.
- Kali Temple is also served by a number of state-run buses. It is an inexpensive mode of transport. You must alight at the RTC complex.
- You can also hire a cab from one of Vizag’s leading car rental companies and travel to the temple in style.
Kali Temple’s Entrance Fees and Timings:
The entrance to the Kali temple is free.
Every day of the week, from 6:00 a.m. to noon, and then from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the temple is open.

My favorite temple of Kali Mata, beautiful scenic view from the temple with a magnificent power spiritual energy oozing out of the garbagriha.
Must visit when you are in Vizag. Very famous temple in Visakhapatnam.
